   3                 <listitem><para>This parameter controls the number of times
   4                 that smbd should attempt to gain a byte range lock on the
   5                 behalf of a client request.  Experiments have shown that
   6                 Windows 2k servers do not reply with a failure if the lock
   7                 could not be immediately granted, but try a few more times
   8                 in case the lock could later be aquired.  This behavior
   9                 is used to support PC database formats such as MS Access
  10                 and FoxPro.
