media: ngene: Remove call to memset after pci_alloc_consistent

pci_alloc_consistent calls dma_alloc_coherent directly.
In commit 518a2f1925c3
("dma-mapping: zero memory returned from dma_alloc_*"),
dma_alloc_coherent has already zeroed the memory.
So memset is not needed.

The I2C core framework provides a simplified probe framework from commit
b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type").

These drivers do not utilise the i2c_device_id table in the probe, so we
can easily convert them to utilise the simplified i2c driver
registration.

node, but in the case of a goto from the middle of the loop, there is
no put, thus causing a memory leak. Hence add an of_node_put before the

When support for the IPMMU is not enabled, the FDP driver may be
probe-deferred multiple times, causing several messages to be printed
like:

    rcar_fdp1 fe940000.fdp1: FCP not found (-517)
    rcar_fdp1 fe944000.fdp1: FCP not found (-517)

Fix this by reducing the message level to debug level, as is done in the
VSP1 driver.

i2c_new_dummy() can fail returning a NULL pointer. This is not checked
and the returned pointer is blindly used. Convert to
devm_i2c_new_dummy_client() which returns an ERR_PTR and also add a
validity check. Using devm_* here also fixes a leak because the dummy
client was not released in the probe error path.

This reverts commit b6c61a6c37317efd7327199bfe24770af3d7e799.

The requested pixelformat is being propagated from the capture to the
tpg in the sensor.

This was a bad design choice, as we start having the following issues:

* We set a pixelformat in the capture;
* We set matching media bus formats in the subdevices pads;
* Link validate looks fine (sizes matches, media bus formats matches);
* Issue: if some of the subdevice doesn't know how to generate the
requested pixelformat in the capture, then stream_on fails. This is bad
because capture says it supports that pixelformat, everything looks
fine, but it is not, and there is no way to find it out through the
links.

This patch was implemented so we could request any pixelformat from the
pipeline regardeless of the media bus format configured between pads.
Not all pixelformat can be mapped into a media bus code (e.g.
multiplanar formats), so with this patch we could request those
pixelformats from the tpg.

Solution: map pixelformats to media bus codes as before, and implement
conversions to other pixelformats in the capture to support multiplanar.

So first step to this solution is to revert this patch.

Convert omap_vout to the vb2 framework. After this change
'v4l2-compliance -s' passes all tests.

As usual, this vb2 conversion is a 'big bang' patch and hard to read.

Tested on a Pandaboard and a Beagle XM board.

media: omap_vout: fix various v4l2-compliance failures

This patch fixes the following v4l2-compliance failures:

- FIELD_ANY could be returned, which is not allowed.
- JPEG colorspace was set instead of SRGB.
- No control events.
- Empty bus_info in QUERYCAP.
- Overlay format handling wasn't zeroing bitmap/clips and
  didn't return the chromakey correctly.
- G_FBUF didn't fill in many of the v4l2_framebuffer values.
  Now also return the base address of the corresponding
  framebuffer that this overlays.
- Missing ENUM/G/S_OUTPUT ioctls.
- ROTATE/VFLIP controls were added when the HW didn't support them.

With these changes 'v4l2-compliance' passes all non-streaming tests.

Tested on a Pandaboard and a Beagle XM board.

The dma_mask and coherent_dma_mask values were never set.

This prevented the media omap_vout driver from loading successfully.

Makefile: Convert -Wimplicit-fallthrough=3 to just -Wimplicit-fallthrough for clang

A compilation -Wimplicit-fallthrough warning was enabled by commit
a035d552a93b ("Makefile: Globally enable fall-through warning")

Even though clang 10.0.0 does not currently support this warning without
a patch, clang currently does not support a value for this option.

The gcc default for this warning is 3 so removing the =3 has no effect
for gcc and enables the warning for patched versions of clang.

Also remove the =3 from an existing use in a parisc Makefile:
arch/parisc/math-emu/Makefile

kbuild: show hint if subdir-y/m is used to visit module Makefile

Since commit ff9b45c55b26 ("kbuild: modpost: read modules.order instead
of $(MODVERDIR)/*.mod"), a module is no longer built in the following
pattern:

  [Makefile]
  subdir-y := some-module

  [some-module/Makefile]
  obj-m := some-module.o

You cannot write Makefile this way in upstream because modules.order is
not correctly generated. subdir-y is used to descend to a sub-directory
that builds tools, device trees, etc.

For external modules, the modules order does not matter. So, the
Makefile above was known to work.

I believe the Makefile should be re-written as follows:

  [Makefile]
  obj-m := some-module/

  [some-module/Makefile]
  obj-m := some-module.o

However, people will have no idea if their Makefile suddenly stops
working. In fact, I received questions from multiple people.

Show a warning for a while if obj-m is specified in a Makefile visited
by subdir-y or subdir-m.

I touched the %/ rule to avoid false-positive warnings for the single
target.

The modules.order files in directories visited by the chain of obj-y
or obj-m are merged to the upper-level ones, and become parts of the
top-level modules.order. On the other hand, there is no need to
generate modules.order in directories visited by subdir-y or subdir-m
since they would become orphan anyway.

I removed the single target %.ko in commit ff9b45c55b26 ("kbuild:
modpost: read modules.order instead of $(MODVERDIR)/*.mod") because
the modpost stage does not work reliably. For instance, the module
dependency, modversion, etc. do not work if we lack symbol information
from the other modules.

Yet, some people still want to build only one module in their interest,
and it may be still useful if it is used within those limitations.

gfs2: gfs2_walk_metadata fix

It turns out that the current version of gfs2_metadata_walker suffers
from multiple problems that can cause gfs2_hole_size to report an
incorrect size.  This will confuse fiemap as well as lseek with the
SEEK_DATA flag.

Fix that by changing gfs2_hole_walker to compute the metapath to the
first data block after the hole (if any), and compute the hole size
based on that.

Fixes xfstest generic/490.

fbdev patches will now go to upstream through drm-misc tree (IOW

The simplest way to fix is to revert commit 89e0341af082 ("bcache: use
sysfs_match_string() instead of __sysfs_match_string()").

This bug was introduced in Linux v5.2, so this fix only applies to
Linux v5.2 is enough for stable tree maintainer.
