Several incarnations of gcc bork with

Compiling dynconfig.c
/tmp/ccXd94O5.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccXd94O5.s:1202: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `mov'
/tmp/ccXd94O5.s:1289: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `mov'`
