5 on a subnet. If set to <constant>no</constant> then <command moreinfo="none">
6 nmbd</command> will not attempt to become a local master browser
7 on a subnet and will also lose in all browsing elections. By
8 default this value is set to <constant>yes</constant>. Setting this value to <constant>yes</constant> doesn't
9 mean that Samba will <emphasis>become</emphasis> the local master
10 browser on a subnet, just that <command moreinfo="none">nmbd</command> will <emphasis>
11 participate</emphasis> in elections for local master browser.</para>
13 <para>Setting this value to <constant>no</constant> will cause <command moreinfo="none">nmbd</command>
14 <emphasis>never</emphasis> to become a local master browser.</para>
